 فيرستابن يتوج بسباق فورمولا-1 الإسباني

Dutch driver Max Verstappen won the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday in the Formula One World Championship, with Mexican teammate Sergio Perez in second place.

Verstappen, the world champion, took the overall lead in the drivers' category for the first time this season, benefiting from the withdrawal of Ferrari's driver Charles Leclerc, from the Principality of Monaco.

Verstappen had early problems with his DRS system that hampered his progress, but a tire change before the final stages of the race helped him overtake teammate Sergio Perez and snatch the victory in the end.

As for Leclerc, who started from first place, he encountered unclear problems with his car's power unit, which forced him to withdraw during the 27th lap of the race, which included 66 laps on the 4,675-meter Catalunya circuit.

Leclerc retired at a time when he was 11 seconds ahead of his nearest rival.

Verstappen scored his third win in a row today, to top the overall standings in the drivers' category with 110 points, followed by Leclerc in second place with 104 points, before the race scheduled for next weekend in Monaco.

Britain's George Russell took the podium for Mercedes after finishing third, followed by Spain's Carlos Sainth for Ferrari.

Britain's Lewis Hamilton, another Mercedes driver and a seven-time world champion, came in fifth, despite his collision on the first lap with Haas' Danish Kevin Magnussen, and he fell to the last place.
